Neighbourhood Crime Watch with BTRA Security Scheme

The BTRA Security Scheme was introduced in 2002 as part of our efforts to keep our neighbourhoods free from crime. Providing this service is Magnus Force, a company with vast experience in neighbourhood safety and security.

The BTRA Security Scheme is a service that provides nightly neighbourhood patrols, as well as on-site assistance in the event of a security breach, e.g. home intrusion. Covering the neighbourhoods of Bukit Tunku and Taman Duta, the patrol team consists of two cars and one motorbike that do their rounds from 19:00 hours to 07:00 hours, and 23:00 hours to 07:00 hours, respectively.

The vehicles are tracked by GPS, enabling the Control Centre to monitor the patrol route and, if needed, deploy extra security personnel to a specific location. Guards also use a digital clocking tool to record house en route checks each night. Data is captured at the Control Centre for analysis.

Residents wishing to benefit from the BTRA Security Scheme must be members of BTRA itself. Annual subscription is RM3,000 a year, a worthwhile investment in your security.

• An additional layer of support for personal home security guards.

More subscribers to the BTRA Security Scheme will result in additional patrol vehicles and personnel, which serve as a visible deterrent to potential intruders. Furthermore, the BTRA Security Sub-Committee is exploring the installation of security cameras at strategic points within Bukit Tunku and Taman Duta.

According to the Sentul District Police, the crime rate in Bukit Tunku and Taman Duta is very low, compared to other similar residential areas. One of the reasons is the BTRA Security Scheme. Members of BTRA are strongly encouraged to subscribe and help maintain the stellar security record of our neighbourhoods.
